Hi there! I'm Priscila Menezes, a Brazilian Social Worker and I'm excited to join Exploring Minds Psychology every Monday.
As a Social Worker I focus on working with children, young people, and adults under 30 years of age.
I like to take a systemic approach and will often involve family, particularly when working with children and adolescents.
I use a few therapeutic modalities in my work, including Play Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Dialectical Behavioural Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Motivational Interviewing and Mindfulness.
But most of all, I believe in the power of a positive therapeutic relationship. Expect warmth, kindness and a little bit of humour.
My main areas of interest are low mood, identity, adjustment, trauma and anxiety.
From Tuesday-Friday you will find me at the Swan Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS), and in my free time, I enjoy gardening, pottery, reading, going to the beach and hiking.
Hi! I'm Lauren, a fourth year psychology student and the administrator for Exploring Minds Psychology.
I am passionate about mental health and wellbeing, and look forward to becoming a registered psychologist in the near future.
While I'm not studying I enjoy snowboarding, hiking and travelling.
You will see me in the practice on Friday's.
