Specific Learning Disorder in Writing (Dysgraphia)

A Specific Learning Disorder (SLD) in Writing (also commonly referred to as Dysgraphia) is diagnosed by assessing a child's cognitive ability, and their achievement in spelling and writing.

An assessment of SLD in Writing will consist of:

  1. Parent initial consultation

  2. Teacher interview (via phone)

  3. Rapport session with child

  4. Cognitive assessment (verbal)

  5. Achievement assessment- spelling and writing

  6. Liaison with teachers and other health professionals as required

  7. Report preparation

  8. Parent feedback consultation
